Today’s Banksy update doesn’t involve a stencil or a roving installation, it’s a piece of video art. “I’m not posting any pictures today. Not after this shocking footage has emerged…,” reads the post on his BanksyNY website along with a YouTube clip. It depicts jubilant Muslim rebels in what may be vintage Afghanistan Syria, shooting down an apparent aircraft, but instead, Dumbo crashes to the ground. And dies. Sounds like a clue as to the particular Brooklyn neighborhood where his artwork (or truck) will show up next. Or not.
What it does confirm, is another social media channel for Banksy, after having joined Instagram at the outset of Better Out Than In.
