Once again, Banksy rests on Sunday and instead of revealing a new piece of public art, he released a YouTube video instead. The footage shows an older man operating an art table outside of Central Park on what is assumed to be Saturday, peddling “spray art” canvasses for only $60 a pop. And they were real.
“Yesterday I set up a stall in the park selling 100% authentic original signed Banksy canvases,” the street artist wrote on his official site. “Please note: This was a one off. The stall will not be there again today.” He hired someone to sell the work and, amazingly, not much sold.
For those of you lucky or smart enough to pick up a few canvasses… Congrat$.
