banksy_osama_ Banksly_Osama_buffed

As promised, authorities in Utah have been removing Banksy’s Sundance work at a feverish pace and even managed to hike into City Creek and buff his Osama piece, leaving ugly gray splotch marks instead. Mormons, figures.

Banksy Places Osama Just Outside Salt Lake City

Moving away from the streets of Park City and Salt Lake City, a new piece by Banksy featuring America’s favorite terrorist popped up in the very natural surroundings of City Creek—for the record, Mormons gotta chill with using “City” in every location name. Also, good luck trying to cut this one out and sell it. Far away shot below. Read more »

UTAH Officially Tagged With Sentence

Globetrotting graffiti writer UTAH has been locked up for months, but she was only officially sentenced today for her crimes in Queens. In a press release, the District Attorney’s office trumped the previously announced sentencing covering her charges throughout the boroughs: $10k in restitution to the MTA, a six month prison sentence on the vegan unfriendly Riker’s Island, as well as five years probation. Additionally, the announcement offered insight into the preferred tools of the trade for “so-called graffiti ‘artists’ and their ego-driven vandalism of public property,” as Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown puts it: Read more »

Rikers Forces Graffiti Writer To Eat Like a Bird

A word of warning to vegan graffiti writers: don’t get caught in New York City. Graffiti bomber turned designer CLAW paid a friendly visit to UTAH, who is recently incarcerated on Riker’s Island, and twitters: “She said it’s not so bad, like a ghetto sleepaway camp. Suave shamps. She is starving b/c she is vegan. No tempeh on the island apparently.” According to the Department of Corrections, inmates with special dietary needs have to go to the clinic and get the nutrionist to issue a special id card. Apparently that’s easier said than done. Read more »

UTAH Faces Graffiti Charges in Queens Court

Globe-trotting graffiti writer UTAH was in a Queens court yesterday to face charges for tagging trains that could put her in prison for up to 7 years. The Queens-based writer made international headlines last August when Chicago police arrested her at O’Hare airport with her boyfriend ETHER, as they returned to the States from a European bombing tour. Now she’s facing charges in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan where she copped a plea last month, plus Boston where she plead not guilty. Even France wants a piece, though they’ll have to wait their turn.

UTAH Pleads Not Guilty To Graffiti Charges In Massachusetts

After getting scooped up at Chicago’s O’Hare airport in August after coming off a international bombing spree in Europe, public name writing artist UTAH pleaded not guilty to 33 counts of graffiti in Boston, after “desecrating historic Back Bay with her artistic upchuck.” Fundamentalist Anne Swanson, chairwoman of the The Graffiti NABBers, hates the letter based vandalism and claims it has nothing to do with art the way she defines it, “It’s pure ego.” And she should know, Swanson does have a degree in fine art after all. However, not even the anti-graffiti zealot is capable of wrongly characterizing the outlawed art form as much as the journalist writing the piece who describes graffiti writers as “terrorist taggers.” |BostonHerald|
