At Least Your Car Isn’t Infested With Rats

Because rat-infested cars are apparently something you have to worry about now: according to the Brooklyn PaperKings County repair shops and exterminators  are seeing an uptick in cars that won’t start due to rodents’ nests under the hood. A manager at Bay Ridge Lexus, for example, said he’s seen five ratmobiles so far this winter. “You could say that our calls pretty much doubled,”concurred Jason Anderson of Brooklyn Heights Exterminator.

The paper speculates that the vehicular vermin are a result of Hurricane Sandy, which may have forced rodents out of their underground lairs, but it’s impossible to say for sure. “When the infestation is under the city streets,” said Brooklyn Heights Association executive director Judy Stanton, “We don’t know where they’re coming from.”
