ANIMAL London: Shoreditch Street Art (Part 1)

June 6, 2013 | Aymann Ismail

The amount of street art in Shoreditch is palpable. It’s all over, creating an almost Disney-like atmosphere as tourists of all ages walk the streets with their smart phones in hand, snapping photos, even if they have no idea who exactly they’re shooting. A lot of the work continually going up in the East London neighborhood is done with permission, creating a friction between street artists and more traditional graffiti writers who have no qualms about ragging the former (pictured above).

Click through the gallery above to get a glimpse of the art currently running on the streets, some of it old, but much of it very brand new.
