“MCA Day” Coming to Gowanus

April 30, 2014 | Andy Cush

Beastie Boys fans, mark your calendars: May 3 is MCA day — a celebration of the life and music of the late Adam Yauch — at Gowanus’s Littlefield performance space. The third-annual event will feature “DJs, Beastie Boys-themed art, and for the first time this year, live instruments,” according to Brooklyn Paper. “He had the right idea about living a life that was of service with music at its core,” Andrew Katz, a co-organizer of the event, told the paper. “You can see that he was not done doing what he wanted to do. We want to perpetuate what he was trying to accomplish.”
