Domino’s Pizza is the Restaurant With the Most Reckless Delivery Messengers in the City

May 5, 2015 | Prachi Gupta

The delivery messengers at Domino’s Pizza don’t give a fuck about the city’s commercial biking rules. DNAinfo looked at the Department of Transportation’s data around restaurants in violation of the law between April 2013 and August 2014 and found that the pizza chain was the number one offender.

According to data from the DOT, Domino’s earned 58 violations and paid $7,000 to the city. The chain did not respond to DNAinfo for comment, presumably because Domino’s is continuing to not give a fuck.

Here are some of the rules that the DOT’s bike unit enforces, via DNAinfo:

The commercial bicycles rules’ main goal is to promote safety, officials said, with regulations that require businesses to equip their delivery bikers with a helmet and a retro-reflective vest. The law also requires the delivery bikes to have lights and bells and put their bikers through an online safety course and maintain their contact information and bike ID number in a roster.

New York City restaurants were issued 6,500 tickets between the 16-month period, collectively owing $754,300 to the city. For a map of the violations, head over to DNAinfo.
