“It’s a representation of the evil and the beautiful, a reflection of the human condition,” says LA-based Austrian photographer Sabine Pearlman about her series AMMO — selects of 900 cross-section images of various bullets, as documented in a World War II bunker in Switzerland.
It’s actually less of a metaphor on the human condition than it is a detailed, visual guide to various parts of various bullets — the points that will pierce and tunnel through your flesh, the parts that will splinter off and shatter the bone, the loose innards that will ricochet inside your body and explode out of your organs.
