Bodega Cat Is a Dick

January 22, 2013 | Samer Kalaf

Meet February. She’s a snarling, furry, five-year-old feline whose main purpose in life is to hunt and kill mice at a bodega for its owner, Bharat Patel. And she’s also a real jerk to any dogs that have the unfortunate confrontation with her.

So, if you visit K & B Inc. Candy Store on First Avenue, don’t bring your dog, unless you want it to be smacked around. Patel won’t care, either.

He has a sign outside warning patrons of February’s dog discrimination and decimation. Listen to him recount the tale of one person (and her dog) who didn’t listen:

There was blood everywhere — the woman’s blood. She was trying to stop the cat from fighting the dog. She said, ‘I’m going to call the police.’ I said ‘Call the police. There’s a sign, ‘no pets.’

Don’t test February. She will not put up with your shit.
