Ta-da: James Franco’s Choose Your Own Adventure Thing

February 13, 2013 | Julia Dawidowicz

Seriously, how does James Franco find the time for all this stuff? Apparently his sixteen forthcoming feature films (three of which he is directing) just aren’t enough to save the actor/artist/intellectual/teddy-bear-killer from the throes of boredom, so is also collaborating with 7 For All Mankind to direct a short, interactive, promotional art film.

“A Beautiful Odyssey” is about a Californian beach wedding. It features lots of modelesque SoCal white people and eye-popping kaleidoscopic transitions, and is supposedly “inspired by the poetry of William Blake.” That’s, uh, quite the unique amalgamation. But then again, so is James Franco.

According to the film’s Facebook page, the fate of the on-screen lovers “is in your hands.” In March, fans will be able to vote for one of three possible endings to the film, which will debut in LA on April 25th. Fun, but slightly tame compared to some of Franco’s recent, more avant-garde endeavors.
